My readership and in particular you breathtakingly beautiful members are a savvy bunch so I’m going to assume that you are up to speed on the basics of Facebook’s cryptocurrency effort. And if you need a quick catch-up, I recommend this explainer from Techcrunch.
In short, Facebook is launching a cryptocurrency governed by a group of very powerful partners (e.g. Visa, a16z, Spotify) that’s going to start off permissioned but eventually move towards permissionless, more decentralized and stuff (so they say).
There are a lot of pretty good takes out there about Libra, but like I said last week, the important question is “who has power?”
